The people behind the projects.

Ridiculously Renovated is a two-person operation in the truest sense: two owners, fully involved in every project, accountable from first call to final walkthrough. No sales team handing you off to a crew you've never met. No surprises buried in the fine print. Just straight talk, quality work, and a process that holds up.

Co-owner

Jim Huebner

Jim started in the trades — HVAC, sheet metal fabrication and installation. He worked his way from the shop floor to managing it, then into designing the buildings themselves. Over the years he's blueprinted residential and industrial structures and spent the better part of a decade specifically in construction project management — renovations, decks, fences, full additions — before co-founding Ridiculously Renovated in 2021.

What makes him unusual is the combination. Journeyman trade roots, a real understanding of how a job gets built from the ground up — and also a PhD in Regional Planning from the University of Waterloo, an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier, and a CPA. That's not a resume flex. It's the reason every project runs with a clear scope, a real budget, and no one getting surprised at the end.

Jim handles client relationships, project planning, and estimating. He's been running projects across Brantford, Cambridge, Waterford, Kitchener-Waterloo, Woodstock, and surrounding communities since day one.

Co-owner

Austin Savard

Austin came up through the trades the hard way — eight years roofing, then site foreman, then carpenter, general tradesperson, and project manager. He's worked across most of the trades, which means he knows what it takes to get a job done right, not just what it looks like on paper.

Before RR he spent years managing fabrication and installation of specialty timber structures across North America — complex CAD/CAM builds with mixed materials and tight tolerances. That work is a big part of where the TimberWirks side of the business comes from: structural timber, custom builds, things most contractors won't touch.

He's also spent several years deep in building restoration — managing large insurance jobs from scope through completion. Austin is IICRC certified, the industry credential for water, fire, and mould remediation. That means when a restoration job comes in, it's handled the way adjusters expect: documented, scoped correctly, and done once.

Austin has been working with Jim at Ridiculously Renovated since 2021. On site, he's the one making sure the work is right.
